The Alderwood Water and Wastewater District has implemented the CodeRED Community Notification System, a high-speed emergency mass notification service provided by Onsolve, LLC. The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the District’s emergency planning and communications outreach to both citizens and staff. The system sends telephone calls, text messages, emails and posts to social media channels to inform District customers to better protect life and property.
The District uses a database of residential and business customer telephone numbers; however all residents living within District are encouraged to go to CodeRED Registration, or text AWWD to 99411 from your mobile phone, and enter your contact information, including additional phone numbers, and text and email addresses, to ensure all the data in our system is accurate so you can be notified in an emergency.
If you know of anyone who did not receive this information and is an Alderwood Water and Wastewater District customer, please encourage them to this web page, http://wwww.awwd.com/codered to click on the CodeRED Registration link above, or text AWWD from their mobile phone and enter their information.
If you someone does not have internet access, please have them contact a friend or family member to help add their contact information to the emergency database. You can also email help@awwd.com for additional assistance.
The CodeRED Mobile Alert app, which is a free download on the App Store and Google Play, will allow Alderwood Water and Wastewater District customers and visitors to receive free emergency and community alerts via push notifications directly to their iPhone and Android devices. The CodeRED Mobile Alert app will serve as an additional tool to help inform the community and visitors about important information that may impact their safety. The app works similarly to our CodeRED Community Notification system. If you have the app downloaded and are in an affected area of the alert, a notification will be sent through the app to alert you of the issue.
District customers who have enrolled for the CodeRED system will continue to receive voice calls, text messages and emails. However, the app is designed to keep users safe and informed while on the go. The app is unique because, for example, if a District customer is traveling to another state that also uses the CodeRED system; they will receive any community or emergency alerts from that specific area while there. It’s an additional way to stay safe when you’re away from home. This additional channel for District to communicate time-sensitive messages to customers and visitors is at no additional cost to the current contract with Onsolve.
Residents are encouraged to download the app to begin receiving notifications from the Alderwood Water and Wastewater District immediately. The app is available for a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
